We are two enthusiastic photographers with Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses. To us, photography is relaxation, creation and education. Essential ingredients to regularly refresh the mind!

This blog was originally intended as an outlet for our project: to create a photo album of the twelve provincial capitals of the Netherlands. We started in January 2011 and along the way also decided to included towns and cities we visit on our travels around the world. All get the same royal treatment as the towns in our project: with sneak peeks, short stories, slide shows, very long captions and other musings.

As you will have noticed, it’s been a while since we’ve posted something. Don’t worry – it was just a marriage and a baby that got in the way! Our fingers are itching to do some more photography and until we get back in the saddle again, we will entertain you with all kind of posts on photography, towns and travels.

If you have any suggestions or ideas we should put on our blog, let us know!

Also, if you would like to use our images in any way, leave us a message on the contact page!

  1. Hi Baas B, Thanks for the wonderful idea! We are going to add this to our wish list… after we finish this project. We will definitely tell something about the Hanseatic league when we go to Zwolle!

  2. When you have Zwolle, Arnhem and Groningen on your list anyway, why not do (some of) the other Dutch Hanseatic towns (e.g. the ones located along the river IJssel: Doesburg, Zutphen, Deventer (also has a nice book market ;)), Kampen, Hasselt, Hattem – see: http://www.hanzesteden.info/)?
